The police in Texas are searching for a man who says it is “by mistake” that was released from prison because he was scheduled to start the prison sentence for seven years.

Harris Sharif County Office said that Tori Dujas, 36, was sentenced to five years in prison for assaulting a family member and two years to evade his arrest.

Instead, Dugas, who was in Harris County Prison, was released since Thursday on other charges, at 04:30 local time on Sunday.

Sharif’s office said that the “comprehensive investigation” is underway to determine the reason for its “wrong launch” from prison.

It seems that prison staff did not “document the prison sentence properly in his file,” the office said in A. statement. This led to the assumption that Dugas was qualified to release.

Police spokesman Jason Spencer was Transferred by Houston Cronic By saying that the prison did not realize that Dugas was missing until Monday morning when officials were checking the list of people who were leading their transfer to the state custody.

The police asked the public to contact them if they were discovering Dugas.

This is not the first time that Harris County Prison was mistakenly released.

Earlier this year, a man who was arrested on charges of murder was released from prison after confusing him with another person with the same name. However, the man surrendered himself after freedom for 24 hours.
