“During this time of moving, NBCuniversal decided that our brand requires a separate new identity,” Kotler wrote. “This decision now allows us to set our own path and confirm our independence as we continue to build our modern news process.”

Although the MSNBC and NBC News will have copies of coverage, such as policy coverage, CNBC News is already separate enough for NBC news that executive managers have decided not to change the name, according to the people familiar with the matter. Also, technically, “NBC” in “CNBC” never stems from ProadCasting Co.

However, CNBC will get a new slogan without the famous NBCUNIVERSAL. This will be true for all Versant brands that have a peacock in the logo. Sports content will be classified on the United States of America and the golf channel together under the United States of America. Digital companies GolfNow and Sportsingine will also change their slogans.

The name MSNBC and new slogans will be changed before the end of the year, when Versant plans to rotate as a company publicly circulated.

“In contrast to anything we did in modern memory,” Cotler said in her memoirs on Monday.

MSNBC is the second largest cable news network that has been monitored, with an average of 1.2 million viewers at peak time a year away. The network has 28 anchors on the air, 21 reporters and journalists, and provides more than 120 hours of live programming every week.
