Two people familiar with this issue said that the government began to simplify the process of foreign direct investment proposals (FDI) from Chinese companies, with directives to reduce the time taken for approvals.

The committee between the Wittini (IMC), headed by the Minister of the Interior, which decides such requests, began at the meeting regularly. A senior official said that one of these meetings was held last week. The official added: “The trends to us are clear – reducing the time taken to address the requests.”

According to the sources, the proposals in the non -critical sectors such as renewable energy, manufacturing and electronics are currently under study. The direct foreign investment proposal for Dixon Technologies, which includes Chinese partners in review as well.

Almost 200 requests suspended under the framework of the Press 3, which imposes the approval of the previous government on investments from countries that share land borders with India. One of the people said that the government may follow these matters according to the qualifiers from IMC and the Cabinet Secretariat.

However, officials stressed that this step should not be explained as softening India with its position towards China. One of the sources said: “Do not look at India, which is involved with the Chinese direct foreign investment through the perspective of its relations with the United States,” said one of the sources.
