Former captain of India, Kabil Dave Delhi and NCR, urged the adoption of sympathetic alternatives to the administration of stray dogs, following the directive of the Supreme Court to seize and count them.
In a video message in which the Petfamilia collection in Petfamilia, captain of the World Cup team in 1983, made a heart call for the welfare of street dogs.
“I know that many things are said about dogs. But, as a citizen, I feel that they are the most beautiful creatures. So I ask the authorities to look at them and give them a better life and do not expel them.”
Kapil Dev’s interest in stray dogs is long. In 2023, he approached the Supreme Court in Delhi to defy the rulings in the law of preventing cruelty to animals that allowed the ability to mobilize stray dogs. His legal procedure followed the brutal killing to meet pregnant women in Delhi in November 2022 – an accident that also led him to move the Supreme Court.
His last message emphasizes an ethical invitation to work, call for safe shelters, better veterinary care, and long -term strategies that balance public safety with sympathy for animals.
The Supreme Court recently issued instructions to the Delhi government and the civil bodies of the steering wheel and shelter, which ensures that it is not returned to public places. This step has sparked strong reactions from animal rights groups, which fear crowded facilities and neglect.
On August 14, a seat of three judges from the judges Vikram Nath, Sandeep Mehta and NV Anjaria reserved its order after hearing the matter, which attracted a general cry since a previous direction on August 11, ordered to remove all stray dogs via NCR.
Hearing heard sharp exchanges. Senior lawyer Capel Sibal urged the court to stay in the matter, and warned that collective imprisonment may lead to cruelty and general health issues. On the other hand, the Attorney General Mehta cited more than 37 annual dog bite cases as a justification for the court’s position.
The issue was dealt with urgently after being mentioned before the chief of judges, Bar Javay, who answered, “I will see it.”
While the case will then be heard by the three judges seat, critics of August 11-including politicians and public figures and animal care preachers-called for a scientific and humanitarian approach focusing on sterilization, vaccination and community care.
