Mattia Debertolis: An Italian athlete dies after its collapse in the world games

Italian follower, Mattia Debertolis, died after its collapse during the world games in China last week.

The 29 -year -old player was found conscious by the organizers during last Friday’s guidance event in Chengdu.

The Italian died on Tuesday – four days after his collapse.

“Although medical care is receiving immediate experts in one of the leading medical institutions in China, he has died,” GCSIs said in a statement.

“He was unable to describe the depth of sadness, which cannot be adequately understood in this tragic loss in life.”

The cause of death is Deepartolis is unknown at this stage.

World Games is a multi -sports event every four years for the incidents not listed in the Olympic Games.

Debertolis was participating in the final of the intermediate distance of men, which occurred at temperatures of more than 30 degrees, when it collapsed.

The guidance is an outdoor sport in which the participants must navigate between unique inspection points using a map.

It combines physical activity with a map reading and solving problems.

The Italian was one of the 12 athletes listed in the list “they did not end” in the official results.

It was part of the Italian national team and finished fifth in the 2022 World Cup final.

Debertolis, who was qualified as a civil engineer, stayed in Sweden and was studying for a doctorate at a university in Stockholm.
