The Israeli army targeted and killed five Al -Jazeera journalists in Gaza on Sunday, including Al -Jazeera correspondent Anas Al -Sharif, who had appealed to the committee only three weeks ago to protect journalists from concerns that it may be assassinated.

Al -Sharif began reporting on the island a few days after the start of the war in 2023. It was known for reports of the bombing of Israel in northern Gaza, and then to cover the hunger that holds many of the region’s population.

With the international media ban on the entry of Gaza, Al -Jazeera is among the few outlets that still offer a large team of correspondents inside the besieged tape, promoting daily life amid air strikes, hunger and destroyed neighborhoods.
