Six Lebanese soldiers were killed in an explosion in southern Lebanon Military news

The deadly explosion comes in the warehouse weapons, as the army was dismantling the Hezbollah infrastructure in southern Lebanon.

The army announced that at least six Lebanese soldiers were killed in an explosion while searching for an arms depot in southern Lebanon.

In a statement on Saturday, the Lebanese army said that the unit was the dismantling of the contents of the warehouse in the Wadi Zebkin area, in the tire area, when the explosion occurred. She said that other soldiers were injured, but they did not specify their number.

“The investigation is being carried out to determine the cause of the accident,” the statement said.

The Lebanese army is working with the United Nations preservation force in southern Lebanon (UNIFIL) to dismantle Hezbollah’s military infrastructure as part of The ceasefire deal With Israel, which entered into force in November.

The deadly explosion comes as a Lebanese government this week consent US-backed plans to disarm Hezbollah-a step that the Lebanese group rejected, saying that these demands serve Israeli interests.

This also comes a few days after Andrea Tintente, a spokesman for the United Nations Peacekeeping Forces in Lebanon, that the forces “discovered a wide network of fortified tunnels” in the same area.

UN spokesman, Farhan, told the correspondents that peacekeeping forces and the Lebanese forces found “three warehouses, artillery, missile launchers, hundreds of explosive shells, missiles, anti -tank mines and about 250 devices equipped to use.”

Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam said on the position of social media on Saturday that “Lebanon mourns” the soldiers who were killed “while fulfilling their national duty.”

Dioidato Apanara, head of the Yunoville mission, also expressed the condolences of the forces and their families.

“Many of the dedicated Lebanese soldiers were killed and others were wounded, and they simply did their work to restore stability and avoid returning to open the conflict,” ABGNARA wrote on X.

“Sincere wishes for fully and rapid recovery of the injury. Peacekeeping forces will continue the Lebanese armed forces and their work to restore stability, however we can.”
