The accident is revealed shortly before 5 pm when a man opened fire in front of the campus of the Disease Control Center, according to Atlanta police chief Darren Sherbum. When the officers responded to the site, they found Rose seriously injured and heard an additional shooting from a nearby CVS pharmacy.

The pharmaceutical officers entered and put the shooter on the second floor with at least one wound. Schierbau said it was not clear whether the wound came from the shooting of the police or whether it was self.

“I want to pay tribute to men and women in law enforcement from all over this region,” Sherbum said. “When this community needs them, no one has ever been dangerous. Each officer responded from multiple areas, and immediately moved to end this threat.”
