Are you missing some ash? A jar was recently discovered in the back of an Uber car in the Kansas City metro area, and no one can figure out who it might belong to, according to Insider. New report from Fox4 In Kansas City.
“I don’t know what to do with this…. Son found this jar in an Uber,” Erin Hayden wrote on Facebook on December 28, 2024.
Hayden wrote that her son asked the Uber driver if the jar was his and he confirmed it was not. The driver also doesn’t seem to know who he is because he drives a large number of people every day.
“It’s tiny and obviously loved as it’s starting to be painted blue… Does anyone know what we should do with this?” Haydn wrote. “The son was in Overland Park when he found him but Uber was all over Kansas City. The son found him Thursday.
The Uber car was in Kansas City, Kansas, at the time the passenger discovered the jar, but it’s unclear how far the Uber driver was traveling. The way it was discovered (using a flashlight by a passenger) suggests it could have been there for some time.
Fox4 News in Kansas City Talk to Ty Hadenwho actually found the jar.
“I got out of Uber to make sure we didn’t leave anything out so we wouldn’t have to get back into Uber,” Hayden said. “I turned on the flashlight and found some items, but I just picked them up.”
Hayden said he texted his friends to make sure it wasn’t their urn. And he has no idea what to do about it now.
“It’s a very big piece, especially since it might be emotional for someone,” Hayden said.
Ty Hayden serves in the Army and is stationed in Florida, so he left the jar with his mother in the Kansas City area, Fox4 reported. Anyone who may know who the jar belongs to is encouraged to get in touch Erin Hayden on Facebook. While her post has been shared more than 200 times, no one has come forward with any ideas yet.
“She’s so loved, so someone had to hold her. If it was my dad or my kid or whatever, I would want to bring him home,” Hayden told Fox4.
Hayden said they will keep the jar and keep it on a shelf “until someone gets it back.”
