An Indian woman recently moved to social media for participation that she collapsed in a meeting with her director after she was forced to work from the office in Diwali. I wrote in the Reddit publication that it works for an American multinational company (MNC) in a hybrid position.
“I understand at the end of the day that we are just a cheap work for them, but God forbid, I think we have some policies that deal with us like humans.” I also mentioned how American and European employees can spend a long time on the spring vacation, thanks and Christmas.
She also said that all members of her team work from the office during Diwali, and it will be 1-2 people in different days. The user added that she was hoping to fly home and work from her hometown this week.
“Even I was told that I cannot go because someone needs to be in the office. Believe me, we are still working in a week we deserve to be outside. But now they want us in the office. We have saved the papers and WFHS throughout the year,” the user said.
She also talked about the hot argument she had with her main manager on the situation. “I had an angry argument crying with my great managers and confirmed that I had to go home. It is the time that it was available.”
She added that a teammate from her team decided to cancel his vacation to come to the office because they will suffer from the least damage in this way.
Poisoned colleagues sympathized with the ordeal of the original poster, saying that for Indian multinational companies, everything is 24 x 7. Some have even shared their stories of working with the wanted managers.

“Not you, it is your praise. I am an Indian who works in Germany. Our project has a small team in the Pune, and managers always proudly announce the meetings that their team is to the point that they can work on weekends and holidays as well,” one of the users commented.
“You can wait for work, and the family will not be forever. I always give my manager to fly to measure the plane. Captain and the first employee need a mutual understanding- if the manager is not a reserve, the plane may be disrupted soon,” as another user said.
