Hamas said it was open to the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) that provides aid to Israeli prisoners in Gaza after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said he was asking the Geneva -based international organization to intervene.
Hamas and Netanyahu’s comments came after the Palestinian groups last week released videos showing two huge Israeli prisoners in Gaza, where about two million Palestinians are struggling to survive the Israeli hunger crisis.
Netanyahu said on Sunday that he spoke to Julian Larson, head of the ICRC delegation to Israel, asking to “the instant group’s participation” in providing food and food treatment for prisoners who are still being held in Gaza.
In a post on X, Netanyahu wrote in the Hebrew language that he told Larson that Hamas was publishing a “lie of hunger” in the pocket, but the fact is that “systematic hunger is being implemented against our hostages.”
Later on Sunday, the spokesman for the Qassam, the armed wing of Hamas, said in a statement that the Israeli prisoners who were detained in Gaza “eating what our fighters and all our people eat.”
“They will not receive any special privilege amid the crime of hunger and siege,” said Abu Obida spokesman.
But he added that the group is “ready to act positively and respond to any request from the Red Cross to provide food and medicine to enemy prisoners.”

The ICRC added: “We know that the families who watch these videos are horrific and sad due to the circumstances they see their loved ones.”
On its website, the ICRC says that “securing access requires the cooperation of all parties concerned.” The ICRC also says on its website that it “has not been able to visit any Palestinian detainees held in Israeli detention since October 7, 2023.”
In a separate statement on Sunday, the ICRC said it was also “horrific” that Palestine Employee Association Association It was clear in the “Palestine Red Crescent” building (PRCS) in Khan Yunis, in southern Gaza.

One million women and girls are starving

There are still about 50 prisoners in Gaza. It is believed that less than half is still alive.
