A quick primer on MagSafe
Most of the wireless chargers in this guide are MagSafe wireless chargers or Qi2 certification. This means they take advantage of the magnets built into the back of the device iPhone 12, iPhone 13, iPhone 14, iPhone 15and iPhone 16 range. I cannot stress this enough: If you buy a case, make sure it is MagSafe case. We have several third-party options in the case guides linked above. A regular iPhone case will weaken the pull of the magnets in the device won’t stick To MagSafe accessories well.
What’s the point of MagSafe? You don’t have to worry about incompatibility with your wireless charger, which means you won’t wake up to a dead iPhone. Technically, this perfect alignment means the chargers can provide faster 15W charging, but Apple has restricted this feature to select products from a few brands. MagSafe is available in the AirPods charging case as well (depending on the product type). on your model). Apple AirPods and AirPods Pro with the Wireless Charging Case will work with almost all standard Qi wireless charging pads found on these chargers (as will Many third-party wireless earbuds), but if you have AirPods with MagSafe, you can connect them to the magnetic holders as well. What is standby and desk mode?
You’ll see us introduce two specific poses throughout this guide: Standby mode and desk mode. what are they?
Standby mode It was introduced in iOS 17. When you place your iPhone on the charger in landscape orientation, it will turn the screen into a pedestal of sorts, displaying the clock (with different designs you can choose from), photos from your library, or widgets. If you have an iPhone that supports an always-on display, you can choose to turn off the screen automatically after some time when your iPhone is not in use or if the room is dark. Head to Settings > Standby To customize it.
Place a nightstand It has long been present on the Apple Watch. Basically, when the watch is upright and charging, the watch face will remain on so you can always tell the time. You can customize this on your Apple Watch by heading to Settings > General > Nightstand Mode.
