As a precautionary step after Air India B787, Itihad Airways, which is based in the United Arab Emirates, has advised to experiment and engineer on the fuel control key with a request to examine itself on its B787 fleet. DGCA seems to be examining the case.

This comes after the initial report of the AAIB Airlines Investigation Office (AAIB) on Air India with many aviation experts who are questioning the disengagement of the fuel control key lock feature in the B787, according to the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in December 2018.

Last week, FAA and Boeing released the notifications that the fuel key was standing on safe Boeing aircraft, according to A. Reuters a report. “We will want FAA,” Boeing said at the comfort of the union consultant.

The sources said that DGCA was watching the situation, but it has not issued any directives this way at the present time. Air India did not respond to inquiries.

The Federation issued consultations on July 12 and 13 July. The source urges them to “be careful” while running fuel control keys in Boeing 787 and one to the engineering team calls for a detailed examination.

The FAA information bulletin for weather information No. NM-18-33, issued in December 2018, has been marked by a possible decoration of the fuel control key unlock in the Boeing plane, including B787-8 equipped with numbers of similar parts.

The Federation has ordered the pilots with caution exercises when running the fuel control keys or any other keys/control in their surroundings and that they should avoid the presence of any organisms on the base of the statue that may lead to their unintended movement.

This directive was required of an abundance of caution because the official investigation of safety, which affects another operator in Boeing 787, continues its course without positive conclusions at this stage.

The engineering team urged to check the fuel control key feature for a proper participation. Detailed steps to verify.

Air India has two types of Dreamliner in its fleet-B787-8 and B787-9. The majority of Air India’s Dreamliners is the 787-8 alternative (25), while it also works on seven 787-9 in November of its merging with Vistara.
