Cyril Ramavusa The SA Senzo Mchunu Police Minister comments on allegations

South African President Cyril Ramavusa put police minister Senzo Macuno on an immediate “leave” after allegations of links were submitted by organized crimes against him.

In the direct television speech on Sunday to the nation, Ramavusa also announced that a judicial committee would verify the claims, which said that the constitution had undermined the constitution and threatened national security.

He added that the law professor Fayrouz Katchelia has been appointed as a temporary minister of police.

Mchunu denied any violations, saying in a statement that he “stood ready to respond to accusations” against him.

In his speech, the president said that the allegations against McCono, which include interference in investigations into political killings and corruption within law enforcement agencies, was an invitation to an urgent and comprehensive investigation.

He said that the judicial committee, led by the deputy head of the judges in the country, will examine all claims.

Mchunu, 67, is an influential figure in the African National Congress Party in Ramavusa.

Political analysts have suggested that he could run for a leadership position at the upcoming optional conference of the African National Congress Party in 2027.

In a statement, Makono said: “I welcome, respect the president’s decision, and pledge the commitment to the process.

“Honor and integrity are the virtues in which he personally participated and which we all need to make efforts to support it.”
