JAKARTA (Reuters) – Indonesia’s budget deficit for fiscal year 2024 was lower than the government’s latest estimate of 2.7% of gross domestic product, Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati said on Thursday.

Without giving the exact figure, Sri Mulyani said the deficit was almost as narrow as the government’s original plan to keep the fiscal gap at 2.29% of GDP.

She added that the details will be revealed later, during a ceremony marking the opening of the stock exchange for the new year.
