Brazilian President Luise Anusio Lula da Silva said on Thursday that he would impose retaliatory definitions on the United States if President Donald Trump continued to pledge 50 % of taxes on the criminal trial of South America against his predecessor, Gear Bolsonaro.

Lula said that it would lead to the law of the reciprocity in Brazil, which was approved by Congress earlier this year if negotiations with the United States failed.

“If there is no negotiation, the reciprocity law will be placed.” Respect is good. I love to present to me and love him. “

Comments would not be raised without the risk of the war of definitions between the two countries, similar to what happened between the United States and China. Trump pledged to respond strongly if the countries sought to punish the United States by adding their own tariffs.

The Brazilian Speaker, Senator Difi Alkulomberry, and House of Parliament Hugo Motta, agreed to a couple of moderates who were at odds with Lula recently, that the accreditation law grants Brazil “the means … to protect our sovereignty.”

“We will be ready to work with balance and firmness in defending our economy and our productive sector and protecting the Brazilian jobs,” they said in a joint statement.

Trump’s definitions had opened to Brazil – and published on social media on Wednesday – the trial of the “witch chase” against Bolsonaro is a new interface in his commercial wars, as the American leader used direct import taxes to intervene in the local policy of another nation.

Trump has already tried to use the customs tariff to combat virtually virtane trafficking and as a negotiating tool to change how other countries’ taxes are imposed on digital services and organizing their economies.

In the case of Brazil, Trump is trying to dictate the result of the criminal trial of Polasonaro, an ally like Trump accused of trying to overturn the presidential elections. Bolsonaro asserts that he is being persecuted politically by Brazil’s Supreme Court for his accusation of the alleged plot to remain in power after losing the elections for 2022 to Lula.

“There is nothing that Lula or Brazil can do about the trial of Bolsonaro,” said Carlos Milo, a professor of political science at Insber University at São Paulo. “Any change in it will be the surrender of Brazil. Paulsonaro’s situation here will not change. How do you negotiate this?”

It was not for diplomats on Thursday to repeat Trump’s message if I had physically reached the Presidential Palace in Brazilia. The document attacks the country’s judiciary and remembers the recent rulings on social media companies. Among the reasons that make goods from the South America will get a tariff above August 1.

Trump began the customs tariff under the 1977 Economic Forces Law, saying in April that the constant deficit between what the United States exports and what it imports is a national crisis.

But the United States runs a trade surplus with Brazil, undermining some of the logical basis.

A Brazilian Foreign Ministry employee told the Associated Press that the commercial negotiations that have been continuing since Trump imposed a first group of definitions in April now “in the air.”

Some members of Lola Administration say that Trump’s move is actually aimed at Brazil’s link to other southern economies, as shown on Sunday at the BRICS Summit hosted in Rio de Janeiro. Brazil’s president once again mentioned the hope of obtaining an alternative currency for the dollar for transactions, a subject that often draws Trump’s anger.

“Trump has never been concerned about democracy anywhere, and much less with the fate of Bolsonaro,” said Brazil’s Institutional Relations Minister of Corporate Relations.

Trump’s interference in Brazilian affairs brought a sense of unity, which was largely absent in the political divided nation. Some Bolsonaro’s allies claimed that it had not been withdrawn the anger of the American president from other decisions, including criticism of the Israel war in Gaza. But supporters of the former president chose to request wisdom in the negotiations.

In an editorial on Thursday, Daily said that Trump’s move against the Brazilian government is “a mafia thing.” He also said that Lula’s reaction was true, which is a rare feature of the newspaper.

Analysts also see Trump’s attempt to interfere in local affairs in the country as possible inverse consequences for Polsonaro during his trial and pushed Lalla Lula, who was an attempt to re -election in the face of the opposite winds for this year.

Canadians recently elected Mark Carnary as Prime Minister, as his liberal party was re -activated through Trump’s tariff and threats that made Canada the 51st American state.

“The reaction of many people is that this is a political gift Lula,” said André Bagliarini, a professor of history and international studies at Louisiana State University, who also belongs to the Cuinesi Institute for Responsible Construction.

Thomas Traumman, an independent political advisor and a former Brazilian minister, has described Trump as “the game change” in the elections next year.

“Trump has returned Lola in the game,” Truman said. “This gives it not to a narration, and Polsonaro is placed as a guilty part in any economic problems.”

In May, the American International Trade Court ruled that Trump exceeded his authority to declare a state of emergency to impose definitions without the approval of Congress. The Trump administration puts this decision, but opponents are planning to use its Brazilian mission to support their case.

“This is an illegal effort by Donald Trump’s insolence to sacrifice the economy to settle his personal degrees, and he is outside his legal authority,” said Senator Senator Ron Widen.

The republican administration argued that their tariff has now become relatively harmless to the American economy, because inflation has decreased in recent months. But many companies have stored imports to apply for import taxes, and it is not clear what happens when their stocks diminish and consumers look at the risk of high prices. Most external economic analyzes expect low growth.

In Brazil, Trump’s interest in trial will weigh the trial. The media reported that legislators and judges are concerned that the former president will try to leave Brazil to the United States if convicted.

The legislator Eduardo Bolsonaro, the former president of the president, moved to the United States in March. On Wednesday night, his supporters asked X to publish “thanks to President Donald Trump.”

In an interview on Thursday, Lula said that Sheikh Bolsonaro “should take responsibility for agreeing to impose Trump taxes on Brazil.”

Lula said: “His son went there to compensate for Trump’s mind, and then (Trump) writes a letter to talk about a case in the hands of the Supreme Court. It is an issue that is not a political trial. What is under investigation is evidence of the case.”
