The Clone Wars, the Easter egg you missed in Skeleton Crew, Episode 6

“Star Wars: Skeleton Crew” continues the tradition started in the “Clone Wars” animated series.most notably in its depiction of war-ravaged planets that flaunt French-inspired sensibilities. The Disney+ show from creators Jon Watts and Christopher Ford is a love letter to the ‘Star Wars’ franchise As a whole, however, Episode 6, “Zero Friends Again,” offers another callback to the aforementioned caricatures that should please fans of the property.

The moment in question occurs when Jude Law’s character in “Skeleton Crew”.God Na Nood, is captured by Brutus (Fred Tatasciore) and his crew of financially starved pirates. The crooks take their prisoner to a space station with a long central shaft to execute him, but Judd manages to get out thanks to his gift of gab.

While all the drama of the pirate court overshadows the location, fans of “Star Wars: The Clone Wars” may recognize the base as one of 20 former Republic medical stations spread throughout the galaxy… although it clearly wasn’t It is a place of healing. With that in mind, let’s take a look at the history of these facilities and examine how much they have changed since pirates reused them for other purposes.

“Star Wars: Skeleton Crew” depicts the space station as a court of cruel and greedy bandits. However, during the Clone Wars era, the facilities, officially known as Haven-class medical stations, were used to treat the Galactic Republic Army and store supplies. At the same time, the bases have also been targeted by some dangerous people, leading to some drama that makes God Na Nawood’s predicament seem like a walk through the park by comparison.

“Star Wars: The Clone Wars” sees Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker (voiced by Matt Lanter) and Padawan Ahsoka Tano (Ashley Eckstein) forced to defend a Republic medical center from a distressed Separatist general (Matthew Wood). Warlord Kalesh proceeds to destroy a facility after learning that over 60,000 clone troopers are being treated there, proving that the wounded soldiers were not even off limits to his atrocities. The stations appear several times throughout the anime series, but this is one of the most notable storylines they involve.

Haven-class medical stations eventually fell out of favor during the Imperial Era, and the rest is history. However, “Skeleton Crew” highlights that they still serve some use in a galaxy far, far away — and proves that the show’s creators know “Star Wars” history.
