“Why do old cars prohibit when planes fly in forty?”

Busty two days after the strict fuel ban of the end -of -life vehicles, the Delhi government pressed a pause on its detained engine, and bowed to a wave of general anger and sharp criticism from the opposition leaders. In one of these criticisms, a former Indian Air Force employee criticized the Delhi government’s decision to ban fuel sales to end -of -life cars (EOL).

Sanjif Kapoor, former Indian Air Force official, Sanjev Kapoor, asked about the application of selective policy by targeting personal vehicles. He asked why you are fine in operating 40 -year -old aircraft and another 30 -year -old transportation, but 10 -year -old diesel and 15 -year -old gasoline vehicles illegal in the streets of Delhi.

In a publication on X (on Twitter officially), he wrote: “We are still flying in aircraft that are more than 40 years old and many of our trains, buses, boats, phrases and commercial aircraft in daily use, more than three decades.

According to the November 2024 analysis report, issued by the Science and Environment Center (CSE), cars are the largest pollution source in Delhi, which contributes to more than 51 % of emissions from local sources. Despite initiatives such as CNG program, gradual disposal of older diesel and gasoline cars, and the implementation of strict emissions standards, air quality continues to deteriorate, especially in the winter.

The Delhi government from July 1, banned fuel for cars at the end of 10 years of age or older for diesel cars and 15 years old or older for gasoline vehicles-which are released and are not allowed to disrupt roads according to court orders. Only seven vehicles were booked by the authorities on the second day.
