Debt universities, mortgage officials and human resources staff will continue to come and work in the UK on the skilled workers’ visas after changes to the migration rules that left employers free to employ abroad to obtain a wide range of office jobs with lower skills.

The new rules, which were developed in Parliament on Tuesday, are a great tightening of the UK Immigration system, with work visas that are scheduled to be restricted in principle at the postgraduate level of studies, and salary sills for each walking occupation in line with wage growth in the last United Kingdom.

Evit Cooper, Minister of the Interior, said that the “complete reset” of the system “will restore the appropriate control and arrangement”, with a basic shift in the approach to focusing on “higher skills, minimum and more tight controls.”

However, the rules, at least in the beginning, will be more liberal than this formulation suggests, due to the roles listed in the “temporary deficiency list” of non-higher professions that will remain qualified for visas until the end of 2026-and if this is without the right to bring the family.

Some of these roles – such as laboratory and engineering technicians, and welding – are covered with visa rules that are often relaxed in the past, due to the lack of chronic skills.

Others have been added because the Treasury and the Ministry of Business and Trade says it is important to present it Industrial strategyIt focuses on eight sectors that are decisive to lead to growth over the next decade.

The list includes some roles that require specific technical skills – from clinical trial officials to steel stores, industrial climbers and architectural technicians.

Employers in creative industries – which have been determined as important in Industrial strategy He will be able to employ writers, dancers, non -UK photographers, makeup artists, designers and box office assistants.

The list also includes many wide categories of white collars, where the logical basis for international employment is less clear: assisting information technology office technicians, commercial support staff, book bells, mortgage officials, insurance guarantee, accounting technicians, marketing partners, sales employees, and human resources employees-among many others.

The Ministry of the Interior said that 111 of the previously qualified roles for visas will not be eligible. She added that the roles in the temporary deficiency list will not qualify to obtain any salary or visa fee, and the list will be replaced at the end of 2026, after a review by the Government Migration Consultative Committee (Mac).

After that date, each sector will also need a plan in force to train workers in the United Kingdom if it wants to keep access to visas – but the ministers have not yet determined how this system works.

Brian Bell, head of Mac team, said that the ministers wanted to bring changes quickly to avoid “sale of closure” as employers rushed to employ new restrictions.

He added that employers in hospitality, who used the visa system often to employ chefs, will be more affected than new restrictions.

Bell said that Mac will study how important it is to occupy the sectors that were chosen in the industrial strategy, and whether it is realistic for employers to employ them in the UK or not – and then it will include roles in the new deficiency list only if the workforce plan is in place.
