Tinder requires new users in California to use facial recognition technology to check their personal files, Axios mentioned on monday. The new “Facial Examination” feature aims to reduce a personal impersonation on the application of dating and ensure that people are not connected to protections or fake calculations.
Facial examination requires users to take a short video of the video when recording in the application. The examination confirms that the person is real, achieves whether his face matches his personal file pictures, and also discovers whether the same face is used through multiple accounts, according to AXIOS reports.
The user will receive an emblem that has a picture in his profile if the check is passed. Tinder said that he will then delete the Selfie video, but storing an encrypted face map to help discover duplicate files in the future.
A face examination is already used in Colombia and Canada.
It should be noted that the face examination is different from ID examination On Tinder, which is used to verify age and identity using an identifier issued by the government.
