The worst episode of Yellowstone, according to IMDb

When the OG “Yellowstone” ended its run On December 15, 2024 (there are still miniseries and spin-offs either ongoing or yet to debut), there was a heated debate among fans over whether creator Taylor Sheridan had done justice to the saga Dutton had been telling with little-no help in the Writing over five seasons. That this main track of “Yellowstone” is its model train that can be designed, expanded and destroyed, if it so chooses, doesn’t seem to worry long-time viewers of the series. Sure, they followed the off-screen drama, and weren’t thrilled when protagonist Kevin Costner was more or less murdered, but more often than not they just wanted to see a very frothy yarn, compellingly told, brought to a satisfying conclusion. And they trusted that Sheridan wanted it too above all else.

To Sheridan’s credit, he seemed to know what his fanbase wanted. Just look at the IMDb ratings and the fact that the “Yellowstone” franchise looks as strong as ever. They may not have gotten specifically what they wanted all the time, but to quote the Rolling Stones, they generally got what they needed. Did he ever lose them? It’s getting close. And based on those IMDb numbers, he came out when things were good (Leaving a lot of questions unanswered).

According to IMDb, the “worst” episode of “Yellowstone” was season 5, episode 13, “Give the World Away.” This was the episode in which Sheridan’s character, Travis Wheatley, captured the spotlight and became the Dutton family’s mega-savior. And while / The film’s Kieran Fisher discredits Sheridan’s masturbatory reputationThe episode still has a respectable rating of seven out of 10 on IMDb. (There are Best Picture winners with lower ratings than that.)

What’s wrong with “giving up on the world?” According to some discriminating “Yellowstone” viewers, this is a ridiculous ego stroke for Sheridan. Whitley has occasionally been photographed topless, and in one amusing instance, she was seen playing a game of strip poker with models (including frequent cover girl Bella Hadid). He also has to show off his bull-riding experience, which impresses tough Beth Dutton (Kelly Reilly).

From now on, it might be good for Sheridan to understand that even his most die-hard fans would prefer that he stick to writing. Is it encouraging for people of a certain age to see a 54-year-old Sheridan walking around like a 20-year-old stud? It has its appeal, yes. But for those of us who don’t have access to a home gym and some cosmetic procedures, we’d love for the hot screenwriter who gave us “Sicario” and “Hell or High Water” to go back to brutal basics. Because this is beyond ridiculous.
