Google is preparing to bring YouTube to create iOS devices about two years after the launch of the video editing application exclusively on Android. The job lists reviewed by Techcrunch reveals that the company is employing engineers in India actively for the iOS development project.

the Functions Google exposes the software engineers in Bangaluru specifically to create the iOS version. The original Android app First In the United States and seven other markets in September 2023, then expanded to 13 more markets By February 2024.

YouTube Create provides free mobile video editing tools designed for the content of the content, and offers features such as stickers, animation and effects for both YouTube shorts and long -shape videos. Google has developed the application after consulting with 3000 creators to ensure their needs.

The app is Google to compete with the famous Capcut editor in Bytedance. But the exclusive exclusive sensor data with Techcrunch shows that YouTube Create is very far from Capcut and another competitor, Inshot.

Competition is not close. In the second quarter of this year, Capcut and Inshot were downloaded 66 million and 21 million times, respectively, on Android devices. In contrast, YouTube Create has seen less than 500,000 downloads in this quarter, and only 4 million downloads since its launch.

User sharing gap is more clear. Capcut includes more than 442 million active users per month on the Android app in Q2, while Inshot is 92 million. YouTube creates delays away from less than a million active users per month.

On iOS – YouTube Create is now targeting – the competition is completely fierce. Capcut tops 194 million monthly active users in the second quarter, followed by Inshot with 25 million. Meanwhile, Capcut and Instagram’s Edit dominated iOS downloads in this quarter, with 28 million and 7 million downloads, respectively.

Although the numbers delay, the creation of YouTube shows some momentum, with an increase of 28 % on an annual basis in the active monthly users in the Q2, which exceeds 9 % of the Capcut and decreased by 7 % for the sensor tower data.

“While the growth of the powerful user is proud on an annual basis, YouTube Creat has struggled to keep up with some of his largest and most firm peers like Capcut, with more than 10 times the number of monthly active users,” said Abi Youssef, a senior analyst at Sensor Tower.

Yousef suggested that YouTube create build a more loyal user base. The height of active users numbers, along with decline downloads, can indicate that people who previously tried the app are back to use it regularly.

Youssef said: “Capcut has come out for several years, along with the fact that it is smoothly integrated with its brotherly application, Tiktok, it is likely to play in this difference in the size of the material with the creation of YouTube.”

However, YouTube creates some retention issues. The retaining rate was 90 days-the percentage of users who downloaded the application and still use it after 90 days-about 1 % in the first quarter, much less than 7 % of Capcut and 4 %.

Participation scales highlight the gap as well. On average users spend 38 minutes a month to create YouTube, compared to 62 minutes for Capcut users. Capcut users also open the application often, with an average of 23 monthly sessions compared to 11 to create YouTube.

Geographically, the YouTube Users Base is a variety. India represented 67 % of the total active monthly users on YouTube in the second quarter of last year, but this session decreased to 51 % in this quarter with the traction application elsewhere. However, the creation of YouTube appears to be gained to collide in India, as the user active rates daily improve from 9 % to last year, so far, 12 % this year.

In addition to India, Indonesia has emerged as YouTube Create is the second largest market, representing 21 % of its active monthly users. Germany (5 %), Brazil (4 %), and the United Kingdom (3 %) revolve around the higher markets.

The application shows a particularly strong growth in many other markets, as well, with an annual active user on an annual basis by 119 % in Spain, 91 % in South Korea, 89 % in France, and 71 % in Singapore.

“The iOS version of YouTube Create can help develop its share in the market, although fierce competition in space is from other video editing platforms supported by social media and indigenous video editors will continue,” Youssef said.

Google did not respond to suspension requests.
