Apple details new fees for the European Union App Store

New terminology makes things a little complicated. When the applications are promoted for digital commodities or services in the European Union, they will be subject to “primary acquisition fees” and “store services fees” in addition to basic technical fees for applications that contain more than a million annual installation. Fees will be imposed on developers who agree on AdDendum Expendation Storekit for external purchase (EU), a basic technology committee (CTC) by 5 percent instead of CTF. CTC applies to “all digital commodities sales or services that occur during a 12 -month period from the date of installation, including application updates and re -installation” instead of CTF approach based on installation numbers. The bases and exemptions are now listed on a custom page.

There are also two separate levels of graphics structures. Level 1 is intended for applications that use mandatory store services and cover category 2 applications using optional store services. The initial acquisition fees are 2 percent for both levels, although the participants in the Apple Small Business program and repeated subscriptions after the first year will not be subject to these fees. The store services fees are 1 5 percent, while level 2 is 13 percent normally or 10 percent for the program’s participants.

This is the approach to the rest of this year, although Apple said it plans to adopt a single business model for the Basic Technology Committee for all developers in the European Union starting from January 1, 2026.

Apple also introduces new terms on how to strengthen developers and communicate with European Union users. The promotional view can now be “a web site, an alternative application market, or another application, and can be accessed outside the application or within the application through a web display or an original experience.” The company also reduces the language in the “Fear Papers” that it displays when the user follows a link out of the application store.
