Canada records a new partnership with Europe to deepen security and commercial -national relations

Canada and European Union A new era of Atlantic cooperation opened on Monday with the official signing of the security and defense partnership at a joint summit in Brussels.

The agreement in Canada and Europe is committed to cooperation with the defense, which is a step towards Canada participating in the huge new defense purchases program on the continent, known as the Relof Eurob.

Carney met with European Council President Antonio Costa and European Commission President Ursula von der Lin at the summit, before signing the final deal.

Costa said that Canada and the European Union “look at the world through the lens itself” and this meeting conveyed the partnership to a new level.

Von der Lin Carney told him that he was “here among friends.” She said that Canada and the European Union are two strong democrats committed to historical relations and are linked to a “dynamic, fair and open and open partnership.”

She said that the European Union only wants to reaffirm friendship and partnership with Canada, but also to reshape it. She said the agreement is the “most comprehensive” ever.

She said, “We know that we can count on you and you can count on us.”

Carney said that the leaders were practicing some of what they discussed in the group of seven and working on it for years. Carney said that the deal is very important for Canada and “shows a way forward.”

Under the terms of the agreement, Canada and the European Union will hold an annual “security and defensive dialogue” that includes senior officials.

The agreement is also committed to both partners to expand the scope of cooperation to support Ukraine, improve Canadian military movement in Europe and enhance maritime cooperation in “mutual interest” areas such as India and the Pacific.

Canada will need to sign a second agreement with the European Commission before it can participate in the 150 billion euros of EUROPE initiative.

The Security and Defense Agreement also pledged more cooperation on emerging issues in cybersecurity, foreign intervention, misleading and outer space policy.

Carney also met with Belgian Prime Minister Bart de Wayer before the European Union Summit.

De Weaver said that Canada’s partnership with the European Union is now vital because “we have woke up in a world that is no longer friendly.”

One of the government official correspondents said on the trip that the partnership is expected to make purchases easier and more affordable, while also allowing Nada to diversify its sources of equipment.

On Tuesday, Carney travels to The Hague for the NATO summit, where member states decide whether to significantly support the goal of defense spending, from two percent of GDP to five percent.

Carney said earlier this month that Canada would increase defensive spending this year to meet the goal of two percent for the first time since its foundation in 2014.
