The judge stopped Trump’s attempt to keep international students from Harvard University

On Friday, a federal judge prevented the Trump administration’s efforts to prevent Harvard University from hosting international students, as Ivy League made another victory because it challenges multiple government sanctions amid a battle with the White House.

The American boycott judge, Alison Buruz, maintains Harvard’s ability to host foreign students while determining the case.

Harvard filed a lawsuit against the Ministry of Internal Security in May after the agency withdrew the school certificate to host foreign students and issue papers for their visas. This procedure had forced nearly 7,000 foreign students to Harvard – about a quarter of his total registration – to transfer or risk in the United States illegally. New foreign students could have been prevented from coming to Harvard University.

The university described it as illegal retaliation to reject the White House’s demands to reform Harvard’s policies on protests, acceptance, employment and other issues. Poroz temporarily stopped working hours after sustaining Harvard.

Less than two weeks later, in early June, Trump moved to prevent foreign students from entering the United States to attend Harvard University, citing a different legal justification. Harvard challenged this step, and Buroz temporarily banned this effort as well.

The stopping and beginnings of the legal battle led to the instability of the current students and left others around the world pending knowing whether they will be able to attend the oldest and wealthy University of America.

The university said in the court file that the Trump administration’s efforts to prevent Harvard from registering international students had created an environment of “deep fear, anxiety and confusion.” Mourin Martin, Director of Immigration Services at Harvard University, said that many international students asked about the transfer from the university.

Trump was a warrior with Harvard University for several months after she rejected a series of government demands aimed at addressing conservative complaints that the school has become very liberal and has been tolerated with hostile harassment. Trump officials reduced more than $ 2.6 billion in scholarships, ending federal contracts and threatened to cancel the tax -exempt.

In April, the Minister of Internal Security, Christie Nom, called for Harvard’s delivery a set of records related to any dangerous or illegal activity by foreign students. Harvard says she complied, but Nayyim said that the response had decreased and on May 22, Harvard’s certificate was canceled in the student and stock exchange program.

The school said in a lawsuit, that the punishment was instantly put Harvard in a non -favorable position because it is competing for the best students in the world.

“Without its international students, Harvard University is not Harvard,” the lawsuit said.

This procedure had lifted some of the graduate schools that were highly recruited from abroad. Some schools abroad have quickly made invitations to Harvard students, including two universities in Hong Kong.

Harvard University President Alan Garper said previously that the university has made changes to fight anti -Semitism. But Harvard, he said, will not move away from its “basic principles protected by law”, even after receiving the federal warning.
