Share more about how I have been working on Spanish over the past two years and what helped me more. Spoiler: Duolingo did Nada to me.

Hello friends! How are you? I hope you will spend a beautiful morning. We have made a water park and a park yesterday, so I have a feeling today will be more low.

Now that we went to our fourth week in Spain, I thought I would have a small update on my Spanish trip and some things that helped me more than others. I think it is an adult, it is very important to be a beginner * in things; To challenge your mind in a new way and try the hobbies and activities that you always wanted to do, even if you are not good at first. I know that many of my friends are a goal to learn a new language, so I hope this post is useful! I also like to hear any strategies for you.

My Spanish trip

Small wallpaper:

He grew up, often the side of the Spanish family. For this reason, I was always able to understand it, but I have never talked about it. I will do the thing that my family will ask me something in Spanish, and I will respond in English. When the Spanish people speak around me, I knew what is going on, but he did not contribute to the conversation.

– I took Spanish lessons in primary and middle school. I thought it would be my chance to feel confident and fluent in Spanish. I wrote articles, I read the novels, hair analysis, but I may have spent 5 % of the time in my Spanish College classes in Spanish reality. So again, I strengthened Fahmy, gave me the ability to write and read in the Spanish language, but I really did not reach my goal of feeling confident in speaking.

Two years ago, I decided to start training again and get a comment. We love to travel, I like to be able to interact with people in different locations, so it has become really important to me. Some of our Colombian close friends, and they have Spanish friends, so I wanted to be able to contribute and feel more comfortable to speak. Also, I would like to start working with Spanish IHP customers early next year.

I tried some different things to update my skills and feel more confident in speaking.

Here’s what made a huge difference and here he did nothing at all.

Learn Spanish as an adult

Applications:

I did not find a useful application in realistic situations. I tried Duolingo and Babbeel and I was not affected by both. I feel a lot of conformity and vocabulary, but a little understanding behind grammatical rules and how languages are used in real life. Also, most of the time, don’t even remember what you were doing. Even with the use of applications on ON a little, I didn’t learn anything new.

Virtual and drainage lessons:

This was the biggest Gamechanger for me. I have been conducted a lot of research and Italki encountered It was for me for Spanish lessons. I have lessons at least once a week, but I also have homework throughout the week in reading, writing, fluently, speaking and listening. It took me some time, but I found a teacher pushing me (in reality it means sometimes hahaha) but it comes out of my comfort area and the next level. (If you want his information, please LMK and I will be happy to pass it!)

Practicing the Spanish language in Spain:

Last year, when we arrived in Spain for about two weeks, I was like, “Here we go. This is my chance!” It was a little confidence to feel that I could do it. I can order food in restaurants, ask questions and answer them, ask for taxis, and was really NBD. Last year, I felt that the local population was talking a lot to us and was surprised by the number of people in Seville speaking English. It seems like the opposite experience this time because of my design on Spanish speaking only while we are here. She was surprised by the ease of her feeling and natural, and it was only English for a few time. πŸ˜‰

I had the opportunity to work with a beautiful Spanish teacher twice a week while we were here!

Most of my world’s conversations were at the surface level: the reactions of the store and the restaurant. I was deeper with taxi drivers! In Barcelona, we talked about a lot: the economy, the quality of life in the United States, the cost of schools and groceries … I loved it. I am excited to continue the training while we are here and return home and I may finally speak Spanish with my Spanish -language friends. πŸ˜‰

Tell me, friends: What are you a beginner these days?

Do you work to learn a new tool or language? I would like to hear about that!

xoxo

Gina
