Representatives of Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of the Congo have reached a draft agreement that may end decades of conflict.

The penetration, which is in the middle of the United States and Qatar, states “disengagement, disarmament and conditional integration” of armed groups fighting in the eastern Congo.

It also includes provisions for the joint security mechanism to prevent future glow. The peace deal is expected to be officially signed next week.

The deal can open the way for billions of dollars in western investment in the mineral -rich area, in which the conflict has been afflicted for three decades.

However, analysts say many questions are still about the contents of the peace agreement.

The US State Department said that the technical teams were launched on the draft text on Wednesday, before an official signing ceremony next Friday that US Secretary of State Marco Rubio will witness.

In a statement, he said that the deal was reached within three days of “constructive dialogue with regard to political, security and economic interests” between the officials of the two countries in Washington.

He added that the latest agreement depends on a previously signed agreement.

In late April, Rwanda and Dr. Congo signed an agreement in Washington, promised to respect each other and reach a draft peace deal within days.

The struggle that lasted for decades earlier this year escalated when the M23 rebels – which are widely believed to be supported by Rwanda – have seized spaces of mineral -rich lands in the eastern Congo.

Rwanda denies the support of M23, as it insists on its military presence in the region is a defensive action against the threats posed by armed groups such as FDLR – a rebel group that consists largely of the ethnic rutos associated with the 1994 group genocide.

M23 seized Goma in late January, followed by Bocafo, and since then it has created ruling structures in areas under its control.

Thousands of people have been killed and hundreds of thousands of civilians have been forced from their homes in recent months after the rebel attack.

After losing land, the government in Kinshasa turned into the United States for assistance, and as stated allows access to critical metals. Dr. East Congo is rich in colors and other vital resources for global electronics industries.

Peace offers between the two countries have revealed in the past.

Last year, Rwandan and Congolese experts reached an agreement twice under the mediation of Angolan on the withdrawal of Rwandan forces and joint operations against FDLR – but ministers from both countries failed to support the deal. Angola eventually stepped as a mediator in March.
