Israeli tanks shot a crowd of people trying to get a truck help in the Gaza Strip on Monday, killing at least 59 people, according to paramedics, in one of the bloody accidents so far in increasing violence as the desperate residents are struggling for food.
The joint video on social media showed about ten distorted bodies dumped on a street in Khan Yunis in the southern Gaza Strip. The Israeli army admitted fire in the area and said it was looking into the incident.
Eyewitnesses, which were release, said that the Israeli tanks opened fire at least two straws on a crowd of thousands, who gathered on the main eastern road through Khan Yunis in the hope of getting food from auxiliary trucks that use the road.
Alaa, an eyewitness, an interview with Reuters at Nasser Hospital, where the injured victims were extending on the ground and in corridors due to the lack of space.
“Nobody looks at these people with mercy. People die, and they are shown, to get food for their children. Look at these people, all of these people are torn to get the flour to feed their children.”
The Palestinian paramedics said that at least 59 people were killed and 221 were injured in the accident, at least 20 of them cash. The losses were transferred to the hospital in civil cars, vehicles and donkeys.
That was the worst number of deaths in one day since the resumption of aid in Gaza in May.
In a statement, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said: “Earlier, a gathering was identified next to the aid distribution truck that stumbled in the Khan Yunis area, close to the Israeli Defense Forces operating in the area.
“The Israeli Defense Army is aware of reports related to a number of injured individuals from the Israeli Defense Army fire after the crowd’s approach. Details of the incident are under review. The Israeli Defense Army regrets any damage to individuals who are not involved and works to reduce harm as much as possible while maintaining the safety of our forces.”
Hundreds have been killed near relief sites in recent weeks
The paramedics said that at least 14 people were also killed in Israeli shooting and air strikes elsewhere in the pocket, as they reached the death number on Tuesday to at least 65 years.
This incident was the latest in the Palestinian killings near the two days seeking aid in the past three weeks, because Israel has partially raised a totally siege on the lands it imposed nearly three months ago.
Israel directs a lot of aid that it now allows to enter Gaza through a new group backed by the United States and Israel, the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), which runs a handful of distribution sites in areas guarded by Israeli forces.
At least 20 people were killed and 200 others were injured in an Israeli fire near the aid distribution site on Monday, according to the paramedics. The Ministry of Health in Gaza says that the deaths are the latest in the mass shootings that have killed at least 300 Palestinians in the past few weeks, as they are trying to reach food through the system of distributing the Human Humanitarian Foundation from the United States.
The United Nations rejects the regime as insufficient, dangerous and violating the rules of human neutrality. Israel says it is necessary to prevent Hamas fighters from transferring aid, which Hamas denies.
The Gaza authorities say that hundreds of Palestinians were killed in an attempt to reach GHF sites, including 23 people who were killed by Israeli shooting on Monday in his Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip.
GHF said in a press statement late on Monday that it had distributed more than three million meals on the four distribution sites without an accident.
Eyes on the Iran war
The Gaza war was operated in October 2023, when gunmen attacked Hamas, Israel, killing 1,200 people and taking 251 hostages. The military attack on Israel on Gaza killed nearly 55,000 Palestinians, according to the Ministry of Health in Gaza, with the displacement of almost 2.3 million populations and causing a hunger crisis.
Since last week, Gaza residents have watched the war between Israel and Iran, which began Israel to Israel major strikes on Friday. Iran has always been a major supporter of Hamas.
The residents of the Gaza Strip circulated pictures of the shattered buildings in Israel, which was struck by Iranian missiles, and some of them publicly happy to see the Israelis suffer from a degree of fear of air strikes by Ghazan for 20 months.
Saad Saad, a gas man, said: “We are living in these scenes and pain every day.
“The time has come for Iran to teach the state to the Israeli occupation,” said Tayzer Muhaisan.
