The former English Premier League referee, Uyuri Rene, died at the age of 65.
Rene was the first black referee in the English Premier League, describing him “Barbals” by the Sheffield Football Association.
He prepared more than 300 games between 1997 and 2008, including 175 games in the Premier League.
“We feel deep sadness to find out the death of our former chair and our rule, Uri Riny.
“Orei made history as the first black referee in the Premier League, where he prepared more than 300 games in the match between 1997 and 2008.
“The barriers have collapsed, our soccer community has formed and an inspiring generations are coming. Our thoughts with the Ura family at this difficult time.”
“They were sad when they learned of the death of popular rule and trainee Uyuri Rene” – Rene was born in Jamaica but moved to Sheffield as a child and grew up in the city.
Rene did the date on August 13, 1997 when he led Derby and Webdon County to become the first black Premier League referee.
This was more than 15 years after his retirement in 2008 before one of the second black referee took responsibility for the highest airline in England, with Sam Alison’s involvement on Sheffield United and Luton on Rakat 2023.
Rene revealed earlier this year that a rare healthy condition left paralyzed from the waist down.
But he recently played a consultant at the University of Sheffield Halham, where he told BBC that he wanted to use his position to help “open opportunities for all”.
