Rangers confirmed the appointment of Russell Martin as a new head coach in a three -year contract.
Former International Scotland Martin, who had a short loan talisman as a player in Abrax in 2018, is the position of Barry Ferguson, who led the club on a temporary basis after the dismissal of Philippe Clement in February.
The 39 -year -old has administrative experience with MK Dons, Swansea and Southampton, who led to the upgrade in 2024 before his rejection last December with the club’s bottom of the Premier League.

Fans are not convinced in Martin style
Martin appointed a mixed reception from Rangers fans with many of his most prominent time in St. Mary, during which he received criticism of stubbornness to convert from his favorite playing style from the back, as a reason for anxiety.
But the CEO of Rangers Patrick Stewart is sure that Martin will establish a culture that will benefit the club in the long run.
Stewart said: “Our standards for our next coach were clear: We wanted a coach who excelled in how to play with it, improving our culture, developing our team, and eventually winning the matches. Russell was the distinguished candidate.
“This date is about building a winning team and a strong culture. It is not strange for our club, we expect success and Russell knows that. We are excited about his leadership.”
Rangers ended 17 points behind Celtic at the Scottish League table last season.
