If you reach a point in which to advance the ability to make the systems safe, will you stop temporarily?

I don’t think today’s systems constitute any kind of existential risk, so they are still theory. It may actually end up with geopolitical questions to be more difficult. But given enough time, care, adequate thinking, and the use of the scientific method …

If the time frame is narrow as you say, then we do not have a lot of time to care and think.

we no You have a lot of time. We are increasingly putting resources in security and things like the Internet and also research, as you know, control and understanding these systems, which are sometimes called mechanical interpretation. Then at the same time, we also need societal discussions about institutional construction. How do we want to do governance? How will we get an international agreement, at least in some basic principles on how to use, publish and build these systems?

How do you think artificial intelligence will change or eliminate people’s functions?

What generally tends to happen is to create new jobs that use new tools or technologies and are actually better. We’ll see if it is different this time, but during the next few years, we will have these amazing tools that outperform our productivity and make us actually a bit supernatural.

If AGI can do everything that humans can do, it seems that it can do new jobs as well.

There are a lot of things that we will not want to do with a machine. The doctor can be helped through the artificial intelligence tool, or you may have a kind of doctor of artificial intelligence. But you do not want a robot nurse – there is something about the aspect of human sympathy for this human care in particular.

Tell me what you imagine when you look at our future for 20 years, and according to your predictions, AGI is everywhere?

If things go well, we must be in the era of a radical abundance, a type of golden age. AGI can solve what I call the problems of root knots in the world-which leads to terrible, healthier and longer diseases, and finding new energy sources. If all of this happens, it should be a era of maximum human prosperity, where we travel to the stars and colonize the galaxy. I think this will begin to happen in 2030.

I am skeptical. We have incredible abundance in the Western world, but we do not distribute it fairly. As for the solution of big problems, we do not need answers as much as determined. We do not need AGI to tell us how to repair climate change – we know how. But we do not.

I agree with that. We were, as a type, society, not good in cooperation. Our natural habitats are destroyed, partly due to the fact that this will require people to make sacrifices, and people do not want it. But this radical abundance of artificial intelligence will make things feel like a non-zero game-

Agi will change human behavior?

Yes. Let me give you a very simple example. Water access will be a big problem, but we have a solution – estimated. It costs a lot of energy, but if there is renewed, free and clean energy (because artificial intelligence has reached it) from fusion, then suddenly solve the problem of access to water. Suddenly it is no longer zero.
