Rorre McLeroi addressed the reverse reaction he faced not to speak to the media during the 2025 PGA championship. In a recent interview, Mcilroy explained the reasons behind his silence, describing “PGA a little from a strange week.”
“I didn’t play well on the first day, so I wanted to practice training … The driver’s news broke out, I really didn’t want to talk about it,” said Mcilroy (via Kyle Porter on X). “On Saturday, I was supposed to go out at 8.20 am. I didn’t go out until two o’clock in the afternoon … I was just tired, I wanted to go home. Then on Sunday, I just wanted to return to the plane and return to Florida.”
He also expressed his frustration with the results of the leaked equipment test:
“I was a little angry because … I knew that the Scotti driver had failed on Monday, but my name was the leaked name. It was supposed to remain secret.”
Mcilroy said he remained calm to avoid saying something that might regret it, with the aim of protecting others concerned.
