Antoine Griezmann signs a new contract with ATLETICO MADRID until 2027

Antoine Griezmann agreed to a new one -year extension with Atletico Madrid, which committed his future for the club until June 2027.

Griezmann, now 34, has returned to ATLETICO permanently in 2022 after a long loan from Barcelona.

His first talisman continued with the Madrid team from 2014 to 2019 before moving to Barcelona in a deal worth 120 million euros.

During his time in Atletico, Griezmann became the top scorer of the leading club at all with 197 goals and is eighth in the club’s manifestation scheme, where he appeared in 442 games.

The cup distance with Atletico includes the Spanish Super Cup, the European League, and the Super Cup.

He also played a pivotal role in the club’s 2016 Champions League race, which ended with the defeat of Real Madrid.

The 2018 World Cup winner has previously talked about his desire to end his career in the United States in the end.

Speculation about a step in the United States was fueling in August 2024, when Olivier Jerud said he was confident that his former teammate in France would eventually join him in the main football, specifically in LAFC.

“One day it will come. It will be surprising, crazy, to also have in the team with Hugo (Loris) after we achieved France. Playing in the same team will be crazy. I cannot imagine,” Jeroud said at the time.

Griezmann moved away from international football in September 2024 after France was canceled in the semi -finals of the euro 2024 against Spain.

In his 137 -appearance of Les Bleus, he scored 44 goals, including six during Euro 2016, winning Golden Boot as the best scorer in the tournament.

Last season, Griezmann played 53 games in all competitions for ATLETICO, scoring 16 goals and offering nine decisive passes.
