Three dead after fire in the elderly in Hamburg Hospital

Three people died after a fire overnight in the hospital wing sponsors the elderly in Hamburg.

The fire brigade in Northern Germany said they were unable to reach the three victims during the rescue efforts. They died at the scene.

The fire was reported in Marienkrankenhaus shortly after midnight.

About 220 emergency workers were sent to treat fire and treat patients. More than 35 people were injured.

Two people were transferred to another hospital in the city for treatment. The fire brigade said that one person has life -threatening injuries.

They added 18 others who suffered from serious injuries and 15 other people with slight injuries.

When the first firefighters arrived, the hospital’s ground floor room was already burning and the fire was threatening to spread to the room above.

Patients came in other rooms to their windows to tell the firefighters that they were unable to leave due to smoke. The building has four floors.

The fire brigade said that they used rotting and portable disk stairs to save patients, and many of them were elderly and had problems in moving.

Other patients were helped through the corridors with the help of escaping covers, a breathing device used by fire songs in smoke -full environments.

Firefighters managed to stop the fire that spreads to other rooms in the hospital. The cause of the fire is not yet known.
