Eight people were convicted after American reality TV star Kim Kardashian was stolen millions of dollars in Paris almost a decade ago.
The four who participated in the theft of sentences were granted a prison for up to eight years, but most of these conditions were suspended. Two people were acquitted.
Nine men and women were accused of implementing or assisting armed robbery of $ 10 million (7.55 million pounds) of jewelry, including the diamond engagement ring, during the Paris Fashion Week in 2016.
“The crime was the most terrifying experience in my life, leaving a permanent influence on my family,” Kardashian said in a statement after the rulings.
“Although I will never forget what happened, I believe in the power of growth, accountability and prayer for the cure of all.”
Kardashian’s lawyers said in a statement that she “is looking to put this tragic episode behind, as it continues to improve the criminal justice system on behalf of the victims, innocent and prisoners’ pursuit to recover themselves.”
On the night between 3 and 4 October 2016, as Kardashian was in her room at the De Pourtales Hotel in central Paris, a gang of men had made their way to the building.
The DNA evidence of AOM AIT KHedache, 69, and Yunice Abbas, 71, was placed at the crime site, and the two admitted their involvement.
Khedache was sentenced to eight years in prison on Friday, five of them were suspended.
Meanwhile, Abbas was sentenced to seven years in prison with a five -year suspension, along with Didier Dupriok.
The fourth member of the robbery gang, Mark Alexander Bouer, 35, gave the same sentence.
With most of the convicts now in the 1960s and 1970s, the group was called “Grandpa so” by the French media.
Kardashian presented evidence during the trial, and the court told that it was Sameh Khadrchi after receiving an apology letter from him.
She said earlier this month.
