The United States will reduce exports to Sudan and governmental credit lines after defining the banned weapons used in the conflict between government forces and RSF.

The United States will impose sanctions on Sudan after determining that Country army Chemical weapons were used last year during the fight against the paramilitary forces.

“The United States calls on the government of Sudan to stop and support all chemical weapons use,” US State Department spokesman Tami Bruce said in a statement on Thursday.

Bruce said that the US Congress was notified of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and sanctions will be imposed on about 6 June.

It will include restrictions on American exports to Sudan and a bloc over access to US government credit lines. Bruce’s statement did not include further details about Matthew and where Sudanese government forces used chemical weapons.

The New York Times reported in January that government forces had used chemical weapons on at least two occasions in remote parts of Sudan against the Palf. Rapid Support Forces (RSF). The report cited the unveiled American officials who said that the weapon may be chlorine gas, which could lead to severe respiratory pain and death.

The Sudan and RSF army have been imprisoned in a civil war since April 2023 after the struggle of power between the two sides.

The conflict created one of the worst humanitarian crises in the world and famine throughout Sudan, killing thousands and clarifying 13 million people.

The United States previously accused RSF and its allies of committing genocide, and held senior leaders such as RSF, General Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo.

In January, the United States also imposed the Sudanese military commander and a state head of state, Abd al -Faih al -Bayran, to refuse to participate in international peace talks.
