Life -like 3D video calls did not completely give me

after Android XR smart glassesI was very excited to try Google RayA copy of shrinking and marketing from Starline 3D Project Video connection booth that Google has been connected during the past two years. Everyone who tried the Project Starline told me how nullified the mind in the video with a person inside what is basically 3D TV free of glasses, and they feel they really sit in front of them. It has finally had the opportunity to experience technology in Google I/O 2025It is impressive, but it is far from some perfect symmetry for the person you are talking to.

Let me repeat myself only, so there is no confusion: that Google can repeat a person from a group of two -dimensional videos that are sewn together in 3D using a dedicated nerve network of artificial intelligence no less than the processor. The 3D person inside the screen really feels as if they were sitting on the table. In my illustration, which was already using the oldest Starleine Project setting and not whenever HP is more tight, a friendly man named Jerome, who said he was broadcast from Seattle, Washington. Later a few minutes, when he told me that the explanatory show has ended, we lived, again, he did it without thinking a lot. All the time, during our convoy 1-2 minutes, I called the eyes, smiled, laughed, as if we were together Irl. It was everything … normal.

It was short of ridicule as the experimental show was, the restrictions imposed on the current version of the 3D video technology were immediately clear as soon as I sat in front of the TV “Kiosk”. When Jerome appeared on the screen, I was able to see that his 3D width was a little. All the time, I could see a little horizontal tension while moving. The closest thing I can compare with it is similar to a slightly strained TV scanning lines – but it was something I noticed immediately and became installed on it.

There are other restrictions that the camera tracking and displaying angle – it really works to look at the dead center. Whenever you move a chair to the left or right, the Jerome image is dark and it becomes distorted. Even with 8K resolution, the light field screen is still popular. I also noticed that if I tried to “look around” the other person’s body, there is nothing there. It is just an empty particle -like space. This is logical because Beam/Starline cameras only pick up the forehead and parts of the person’s sides, not the background angles. If you have already seen the back of a person’s image mode (see below), you will know that there are no data taken there.

I am also suspicious like Hell about the extent of Beam’s work in the optimal lighting. The room where I was well was widespread. I think the image quality may be greatly degraded with faded lighting. There is likely to have some noticeable true image noise.

I must also point out that chatting with Jerome was actually my second cross. My first show was with a man named Ryan. The experience was equally equal, but Starline crashed and frozen, and had to transfer it to Jerome. Initial models! Certainly, zoom calls can also freeze, but you know what is not freezing? Realistic conversations personally.

Since these units were the Project Starline – cameras and headphones units were linked to the sides of the screen instead of their built -in – there is no way to see if Google Beam is a more polished product.

I really expected to astonish my mind like anyone else, but since I felt naturally, the entire experience did not make me feel afraid. I am known for terror when some new technology looks amazing. This may be a convincing blessing – there is no shock factor (not for me, at least), which means that the package/stars technology has led to an exit (mostly) from the way to allow real communication.
