Vincerzo Italiano, Bologna director, described the Coppa Italia victory for his “incredible” team and described his players as “unusual” after defeating Milan 1-0 to finish waiting for 51 years to get a large cup.
Striker Dan Nadwi scored what proved to be the winning goal after eight minutes after Bologna raised Italy for only the third time in the club’s history, the first since 1974.
Milan was seeking a local double after winning Supercoppa Italiana earlier this season, but it was a night that finally belonged to Italiano, who got his hands after two final defeats in the conference league and a Coppa Italia as the director of Fiorentina in some silver tools.
Certainly, the importance of this occasion was not lost on the Bologna coach, who struggled to hide his full time.
“After some disappointments, I think we deserve it, especially because we played a wonderful game tonight. It was an incredible performance, we knew again what Milan would do in the second half, so we answered,” said Italiano.
“This amazing year is crowned this cup, which is what these fans deserve.”

Speaking of his three -heart pain, the Italian said: “These were also three disappointments.
“I did not think frankly that I could return directly to and win it, but I did it. I devoted it to these unusual boys.”
The 47 -year -old also devoted victory to the late Joe Baron, the director in Fiorentina, who was injured in 2024 a heart attack in the hotel team hours before the second division match and died in the hospital a few days later.
“His son sent me a message this morning and I was very happy.”
“We are close to lifting silver tools with him as well and they mean a lot to me.”
