Bradley Wigs, a cycling champion, says he was addicted to cocaine and he is “lucky” to be alive.

Bradley Wigins, the former Tor de France champion, revealed that he became addicted to cocaine after retiring from cycling.

In an interview with the British newspaper The Observer, the Olympic Gold Medal said five times that he was “lucky” to be alive.

“There were times that my son thought I would find a dead in the morning,” said 45 -year -old Wigs. “I was a addict to work. People will not realize. I have been mostly for years.”

The British bicycle passenger was a gold medal in four consecutive Olympics since 2004 and won the tour in 2012. He retired in 2016.

In 2022, he made a claim in an interview with the Men Health UK magazine that he was sexually prepared by a coach, whose name was not revealed, when he was 13 years old.

Wiggins told the observer his addiction to cocaine “a really bad problem” and was “walking a rope”. The newspaper said he had resigned from his addiction a year ago.

“I already had a lot of self -hatred, but I was amplifying it,” he said. “It was a form of self -harm and self -sabotage. The person I wanted to be. I realized that I was hurting many people around me.”
