Ireland and Linster Captain Kelan Doris will be marginalized for up to six months after shoulder surgery.

The 27-year-old was injured in defeating the semi-finals of the 37-34 champions in Northtone on May 3.

It was left last week from the British and Irish black team in this summer round in Australia by coach Andy Farrell.

Doris was previously the background of the black leadership candidates, which were given to England and Sarasins Luke Maru Etoji.

A short update from Linds read: “Calman Doris had a shoulder injury last Friday that would keep him out of work for a period of four to six months.”

In addition to the great disappointment in losing what could have been the first Lyons tour of his career, Doris has now become a doubt in the international fall of his country.

Ireland, facing Georgia and Portugal in July, faces New Zealand in Chicago on November 1 before hosting Japan, Australia and South Africa in Dublin on the following three weekends.
