Ukraine: The next Trump is doing is the key

Volodymyr Zelensky gave a cautious response and diplomacy to Vladimir Putin’s presentation late at night to direct conversations in Istanbul next Thursday.

Perhaps it was expected that the Ukrainian leader will attend his opposite number in Moscow for not committing to a 30 -day ceasefire, and Kiev and his Western allies requested on Saturday.

Instead, writing on X, called Zelensky “A positive sign that the Russians have finally started thinking about ending the war.”.

Zelensky added that Ukraine expects Russia to confirm that it will commit to a 30 -day ceasefire, starting on Monday.

It is difficult to know if Zelinski really sees Putin’s display of direct conversations as a “positive sign”. This is much about optics like anything else.

Putin nor Zelinski wants US President Donald Trump to see an obstacle to peace.

Trump’s reaction was significantly optimistic. He wrote on the social truth platform earlier, hinting again that this war was close to the end. He wrote: “A great day for Russia and Ukraine!”

Putin said he wanted to address what he calls “the radical causes of the conflict.”

From his point of view, this means that Ukraine’s unacceptable ambition is to be part of the flourishing democratic Europe rather than returning to the orbit of Moscow and becoming a wonderful Satsy nation like Belarus.

He will also want a strong outsourcing that Ukraine will never join NATO.

On Saturday, Moscow demanded that before any ceasefire began, the West must stop arming Ukraine.

Of course, this country will leave less able to eliminate Russia’s gradual progress on the confrontation line – or, and worse, a new attack on a large scale to take more lands.

What Ukraine strongly needs from its allies is a flow without interruption of air defenses to support the increasing numbers of drones and missiles that are launched across the common border in KyIV and other major cities.

Soon after dawn on Sunday, we woke up by alerting an air strike and the sirens went when more Russian aircraft aircraft were fired.

On May 9, the American embassy in Kiev issued a warning to its citizens that there is a “great risk of air strikes in the coming days.”

One of the biggest concerns is that the Kremlin may launch a ballistic ballistic missile in Urichnik, the last of which was launched at a factory in Dnibro last November.

As its speed approaches 10 times the speed of sound, Russia is proud that this missile “cannot be stopped.”

Now the main question is what Trump is doing after that – this can go in either direction.

He can decide that his opposite number in Moscow is simply linking him, and finds one excuse after another so that he does not agree to a ceasefire.

Or, given his historical warm relations with Putin, does the Russian leader throw a diplomatic life artery and pressure Ukraine instead to sit in Istanbul and listen to Moscow’s demands, regardless of whether there was a ceasefire on Monday?
