This comes as ahead of the Mraquee India tour in England 2025, which will be played in June, July and August via Leeds, Birmingham, London and Manchester.
VIRAT KOHLI was expected to be part of the India team for a prominent test series in five games, but his retirement invitation puts a big question mark about his participation in what could have been his last test in England.
Espncricinfo reported that Kohli was conducting chats about his retirement with BCCI officials during the past month or so. If Kohli finishes his career before the England tour, he will end as one of the greatest test players in the history of Indian cricket with 9230 running under his belt at a rate of 46.85 in 123 games.
It is still incredibly fit and hungry – BCCI
However, Kohli does not want to leave the cricket test yet. According to Kohli, BCCI officials asked to reconsider his decision before issuing a final announcement.
A 36 -year -old BcCI official said Kohli is still very appropriate and hungry, and his presence in the dressing room is receiving the atmosphere. He added that Kohli was asked to spend more time before making a call to his career in the test.
“He is still incredibly fit and hungry. His presence in the dressing room raises the entire team. We have asked him to spend time before making a final call,” said BCCI.
It is worth noting that the absence of Kohli in the England tour will be a major blow, as India will also lose the likes of Rohit Sharma, Ravenaranaran Ashwin, Agukia Rahan, and Tishichear Boujara on the tour.
With the latest test Rohit Sharma, India will play under a new captain, and the team’s management hopes that Kohli will continue in the red cricket game, because his experience is very important in the tour.
