Legislators in Texas They are advancing to what they call the strongest legislative effort in the country so far to prevent hostile foreign powers from buying land in the state of Lun Star.

Under SB17, “real estate property” includes agricultural, commercial, industrial and residential lands, as well as mines, minerals and wood. The law includes major exemptions for American citizens, permanent legal residents, and intended property as a personal home.
“The strong points in our bill are that it can apply to anyone if we can prove that they are behaving as an agent,” Hefner said. “So even if they are from a friendly country, but in reality they are on behalf of a foreign opponent, they will be subject to the draft law.”
The draft law gives the general survey authorities to the lawyer, and the authority to appoint receptions to manage or sell acquired real estate in violation of the law.
Hefner strongly pushed critics who claim that the bill is foreigners. “This has nothing to do with the color of the skin or sweat,” he said. “It comes to the protection of Texas and Americans from foreign espionage and influence.”

He also stressed that SB17 should not be considered a party step. “It should not be a party issue. This is related to national security. “I think this is, as you know, the first responsibility of the government is to make sure that people can live free and safe in their mandate.”

SB17 is scheduled to enter into force on September 1. Hefner said he hoped the legislation will make an effort in the country.
“We need to wake up,” he said. “This is related to securing the homeland, not playing politics.”
