The age of retirement in the corporate corridors in India is no longer 60 years old – not 55 as well. He is close to 45 years old. This time, it is not the choice of lifestyle. “I do not mean this in a good way,” the banker and consultant in investment warns Sartak Ahuja, who was tracking increasingly hidden in the professional chapter in India.
“I see a number of companies in the mid -1940s who create LLPS on the side,” Ahua said. “They will tell you,” this will be the consulting entity that I may need in the next two years. “
It is a quiet panic. The professionals in the beginning to the mid-1940s- especially in sales, marketing, products, operations and technology- are preparing for a future that they have never planned. “Ask any CA in Urban India,” AHUJA adds, “and they will confirm this increase in LLP records.”
Unlike the professions in which the experiment is a badge of honor – such as law and medicine – corporate roles are now considered seniority. “People at the top are seen as expensive and not updated with what is related today,” he says.
And companies do not divorce them directly. “They build parallel administrations with a younger team – work independently of the large people, at low costs, and often get more leadership attention,” AHUJA notes. The result? Promotional offers dry. The effect fades. Office policy screws. Writing on the wall becomes very clear to ignore it.
In the face of stopping growth and the lack of a side safety network, many professionals turned into consulting vehicles on the weekend, and clients gathered over time in the hope of getting out of the jobs of companies completely. “This increase in entrepreneurship and financial independence is not driven by excitement,” AHUJA. “It is driven by fear of the future that is not known in the jobs.”
The tilt towards younger talent is also the reshaping of the elite education. “When I was in ISB, the average work experience was more than six years. Now, it rose to four,” he noticed. “They even launch a two-year business administration for university students-because consulting companies want to employ a new young man.”
His final followers? “If you are in the 1940s, you are either to remain relevant – or start a business that helps others like you to do so exactly.”
