Watford Tom Cleverly dismissed the main coach after he was weak in their aspirations in the qualifiers.
He was considered the former Manchester United midfielder Cleverly, one of the brightest young coaches in the championship, but he was unable to stop the recession, which witnessed Watford’s record of the lowest points in the section in 2025.
The news of his departure did not decrease well with the fans of Vicarage Road Club with a local press survey revealing 95 percent of the supporters who did not agree to the decision.

Time to change – sports director
In a statement, sports director Jian Luca Nani said: “We thank Tom for his service – not only in his role as a main coach but for everything he gave Watford as a player and a team member.
“But it is time to change and based on what we think is a young and talented team that has benefited from the tournament experience this season.
“It was a concession to work closely with Tom; to understand how he sees the game and his enthusiasm for everything here. He deserves to be recognized for this, and I am sure he will have a bright future in the game.
“Tom will always be part of Watford in appreciation of everything he achieved over many years.”
Cleverly join
Cleverly took over from Valerian Ismail in March 2024 and helped them avoid landing, in the end of the fifteenth place.
They were in the framework of the qualifiers for most of this season before it extended from seven defeats in their last 11 games in fourteenth.
The 35 -year -old, who participated in 180 games in Watford as a player, was the twentieth coach who has held affairs in the club since the Pozzo family acquired in 2012.
The average age of a coach in Watford under Pozzo is 234 days.
