Instagram Blackout: Fawad Khan, ATIF Aslam, RAhat Fateh Ali Khan fades from the Indian view amid tensions with Pakistan

Fawad Khan, Atif Aslam, and Wahhat Fateh Ali Khan are the latest Pakistani celebrities who disappear from Instagram in India. This is part of a broader campaign. The Indian government previously banned 16 Pakistani channels on YouTube, claiming that provocative content and misinformation against India, its army and its security forces. The famous YouTube channel of Shoaib Akhtar, which includes more than 3.5 million subscribers, was also dropped.

Collectively, the banned channels collected an audience of about 63 million. The list includes two major broadcasters such as Dawn News, ARY News, Bol News, Geo News and Sama TV. Amid digital freezing, the Indian government also issued a strict message to the BBC, and criticized its coverage of Pahalgam’s attack. Objective?
