Cyril Ramaphosa in South Africa has prepared an investigation into the trials

South African President Cyril Ramavusa has announced a judicial investigation into allegations of political intervention in the prosecution of the crimes of the apartheid era.

This announcement comes three decades after the end of the rule of the white fly – and after a group of survivors and relatives of the victims filed a lawsuit against the Ramavusa government for the lack of justice.

The Truth and Reconciliation Committee (TRC), which was established in 1996, revealed the brutality dating back to the apartheid such as killing and torture, but few of these cases have taken trial.

With the announcement of the new investigation, a presidential statement said that Ramavusa “decided to create the real facts and the final issue.”

The investigation is the result of the settlement discussions in the case of the Supreme Court presented by 25 families and the survivors.

The group, which the government suits damage of $ 9 million (6.8 million pounds), says that the crimes of the apartheid era were not properly investigated by the governments that came after the racist regime.

Among the prosecutors is Ibn Fort Kalata, among a group of anti -factions activists who were known as Cradock Four, were burned and killed by the security forces in 1985.

The killing of the four men has angered all over the country, and six former police officers eventually admitted their involvement in TRC. They were rejected by a pardon by the committee, but they were not transferred to the court. All six officers have died since then.

For years, critics claimed that the post -racist leadership of the African National Conference (ANC) formed a secret deal with the previous white government to prevent prosecutions. The African National Congress Party has denied this.

On Wednesday, the presidency acknowledged that “allegations of the incorrect influence in delaying or hindering the investigation and pursuing the crimes of the apartheid era have continued from previous departments.”

The investigation head will soon be announced, along with his schedule.
