Lando Norris admits that Max Versaben deserves to win the title last season and did not do so, as the driver looked at his first campaign on the title of F1. The 2024 season was a strange season, starting with Red Bull, which had a comfortable car than everyone.
This Max Versaben helped get an advantage over the rest of the network, so far until the race in Miami this season, the Dutch driver had shot down only one race, and even that was the result of a technical issue. From Miami onwards, things began to change. Lando Norris won his first professional race this week, and the power balance gradually began to shift from Red Paul McLaren.
As the season advanced from that point onwards, Lando Norris was the best car compared to Max Versaben more often. Although the Dutch driver had a slower car, he put a great tour and is still holding the British.
This was also the result of multiple things, including Lando Norris’s inability to launch his beginnings and maintain the initiative even when starting the race from the Pole. In an interview with F1.comLando Norris opened what happened last season and looked at it as a large educational curve. Norris said that Max Versaben deserves to win the title and did not do so,
“I think (ended) in the second half of last year, I learned more than others about returning to the forefront, performing a performance under pressure, and racing against the best in the world. We learn a lot there than it was when we did other things. Was I able to make better decisions? Yes.
He added,
“At the end of the day, I was happy because I got all these things and learned from all these things, because he certainly helped me to become a better driver now, and I am more prepared now. Everyone is different. Sometimes people are more natural in these things, and some people have to learn more time to learn these things.”
Good educational experience: Lando Norris to fight Max Versaben in 2024
2024 was the first time that Lando Norris has a car he could challenge for the title, and the driver appears to be learning in the job. When talking about fighting with Max Verstapen, Norris admitted that the entire experience was a major educational curve for him as well. He said ,
“For me, it was a good educational experience. Some of them are more specificly with Max more than others, but there are many different situations. Although he was six years old, it was still a very large educational curve. It was a very good season to capture all those things that go in the winter.”
He added,
“I looked back on what was good, what was not good, strengths, weakness, and how you put it together to make you a more complete driver. I think (was) is very important in terms of learning and understanding more about myself, and what I need to work on.”
The 2025 F1 F1 season will witness Lando Norris and Oscar Pasri Its title in McLaren, but Max Versaben, as always, will be a big factor this year as well.
