Captain Al -Maghair Kevin de Bruyne was surprised that he had finished his career in Manchester City because he could still perform at the highest level.
Belgium’s 34th playmaker is in June, but unlike his competitors in the mid -thirty years in Liverpool, Mohamed Salah and Virgil Van Dick, he had no opportunity to extend his 10 -year career in the Federation.
De Bruyne believes that City has made a mistake on that front and feels that the club season has reached a record level – it is in a battle only to secure football in the Champions League despite the 2-0 victory over Everton – he may have been asked to stay.
“I haven’t had any offer throughout the year, they made a decision,” he said.
“Obviously, I was a little surprised, but I just have to accept it. Frankly, I still think I can perform at this level as I have shown but I understand that the clubs have to make decisions.
“Perhaps if the team does not fight, I promised as I did this year and entered into the usual, then they may make another decision.”
De Bruyne said he did not make any decisions about his future because he focused on the race to secure the first five position to extend the city’s Champions League race to the 15th consecutive season.
It has already been linked to the moves to Major Legue Soccer in the United States, but it seems that he still has designs to play at the highest level he can as long as he can.
“I feel that I still have a lot to present it. It is clear that I know that I am no longer at the age of twenty -five, but I still feel that I can do my job.”
“I am open to anything. I must look at the full picture. I look at the sport, the family, and everything together, and what is the most logical for me and my family.
“I love to play football. I love competition. That’s what I feel, so I can’t say I want to smoke because I still feel that whenever I am in training, I want to overcome the players.
“I feel really fine and that’s why I also played a lot recently.”
While de Bruyne did not rule out in the Premier League, his last few matches are feeling a farewell round, and it was hunted in Judison Park, where City won in the ninth time in a row – and the final – thanks to the very late goals of Niko Aureli and Mattio Kovacic.
It seemed, at least, as one of the few players trying to inject life in a performance that was without life and lacking distress and any real threat to the goal until the 84th minute.
“It is really rare to go out and get applause from another team, so I just want to say thanks to them. I think they appreciate the way I play.”
“The way Everton plays is difficult. Defensive that it is sound and we tried to break it, but it was difficult.
“We have faced difficulties in moving forward, especially in the first half. We needed two late goals, but I think we did well.”
