Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskyy accused Russia Sunday from creating a wrong appearance to honor the ceasefire on Easter, saying that Moscow continued to launch attacks after Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a temporary truce from one side.

Zelinski said on Saturday night that some areas were quieter since the announcement of the ceasefire, which claimed that Putin was the “real cause” of the war. “Once Putin gave an order to expand the attacks, the severity of strikes and killing decreased. The only source of this war fell and prolonged in Russia,” he wrote on X.

The Russian Ministry of Defense said on Sunday that the Ukrainian forces launched attacks overnight in the Donetsk area, despite the ceasefire, and sent 48 drones to Russian territory. A few hours after the announcement of the ceasefire, Putin attended the Easter Service late on Saturday at the Moscow Cathedral of the Savior Christ led by Patriarch Kirill, the head of the Russian Orthodox Church and an audio supporter of Putin and the war in Ukraine.

According to Karmlin, the ceasefire will continue from 6 pm Moscow time on Saturday to midnight after Easter.
